Gitxsan language
The Gitxsan language is an indigenous language spoken by the Gitxsan people in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. It belongs to the Tsimshianic language family and is primarily used in the communities along the Skeena River.
Efforts are ongoing to revitalize the Gitxsan language, as it faces challenges due to declining speakers. Language programs in schools and community initiatives aim to teach younger generations and preserve this important aspect of Gitxsan culture.
