Ginkaku-ji
Ginkaku-ji, also known as the Silver Pavilion, is a Zen temple located in Kyoto, Japan. Built in the late 15th century by Ashikaga Yoshimasa, it was originally intended as a retirement villa. The temple is renowned for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture, which reflect the aesthetics of the Muromachi period.
The main structure of Ginkaku-ji is a two-story building, with the upper floor featuring a thatched roof. The surrounding gardens include a moss garden and a sand garden, showcasing the principles of Zen Buddhism. Ginkaku-ji is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts many visitors each year.
