Giant Monitor Lizard
The Giant Monitor Lizard, also known as the Komodo Dragon, is the largest living lizard species, native to the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, and Gili Motang in Indonesia. These reptiles can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh over 150 pounds. They have a robust body, powerful limbs, and a long, forked tongue that helps them detect scents.
Giant Monitor Lizards are carnivorous and primarily hunt large prey, including deer and wild boar. They are known for their keen sense of smell and can consume up to 80% of their body weight in a single meal. Their unique venomous bite helps them subdue prey, making them effective predators in their habitat.
