Ghiyath al-Din Tughlaq
Ghiyath al-Din Tughlaq was the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty in India, ruling from 1320 to 1324. He was known for his military prowess and administrative reforms, which helped consolidate his power in the region. His reign marked the beginning of a significant era in the Delhi Sultanate.
Tughlaq was originally a noble of Turkic descent and rose to prominence after the death of the previous ruler, Alauddin Khilji. He established a strong central government and worked to improve infrastructure, including roads and irrigation systems. His rule, although short-lived, laid the groundwork for future developments in the subcontinent.
