German-speaking Community of Belgium
The German-speaking Community of Belgium is one of the three official language communities in Belgium, alongside the Flemish Community and the French Community. It is located in the eastern part of the country, primarily in the province of Liège. This community consists of around 77,000 residents who primarily speak German.
Established in 1973, the German-speaking Community has its own parliament and government, allowing it to manage local affairs, education, and cultural activities. It also promotes the German language and culture within Belgium, fostering a sense of identity among its members while contributing to the country's linguistic diversity.
