George Papandreou
George Papandreou is a Greek politician who served as the Prime Minister of Greece from 2009 to 2011. He is a member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) and comes from a prominent political family, being the son of former Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou and the grandson of Georgios Papandreou, who also held the position.
During his tenure, Papandreou faced significant challenges, including the Greek debt crisis, which led to severe economic measures and austerity policies. His government sought assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union to stabilize the economy and implement reforms.
