George Orwell's Animal Farm
George Orwell's Animal Farm is a novella that uses a group of farm animals to satirize the events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the early years of the Soviet Union. The story begins with the animals on Manor Farm overthrowing their human owner, Mr. Jones, in hopes of creating a society where all animals are equal.
As the animals establish their own government, they face challenges that lead to corruption and inequality. The pigs, particularly Napoleon and Snowball, emerge as leaders, but their actions ultimately betray the original ideals of the revolution, illustrating the dangers of totalitarianism and the cyclical nature of power.
