George Colman
George Colman was an English playwright and poet born in 1732. He is best known for his comedic works, particularly his collaboration with David Garrick on the play "The Clandestine Marriage." Colman's writing often featured sharp wit and social commentary, making him a notable figure in the 18th-century theatrical scene.
In addition to his plays, Colman was also involved in the management of the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in London. He contributed to the development of English comedy and influenced later playwrights. Colman passed away in 1794, leaving behind a legacy of entertaining and thought-provoking works.
