Geography of Lithuania
Lithuania is located in Northern Europe, bordered by the Baltic Sea to the west, Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, and Poland and the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia to the southwest. The country covers an area of approximately 65,300 square kilometers, featuring a mix of plains, hills, and forests. The Neman River and the Nemunas River are significant waterways that flow through the landscape.
The climate in Lithuania is classified as a humid continental climate, characterized by warm summers and cold winters. The country is home to several national parks, including Aukštaitija National Park and Žemaitija National Park, which protect its diverse ecosystems. Lithuania's geography also includes numerous lakes, with Lake Drūkšiai being the largest.
