Geography of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south. The country features diverse landscapes, including the Caucasus Mountains in the north and flat plains in the central and southern regions.
The climate in Azerbaijan varies from semi-arid in the lowlands to more humid in the mountainous areas. The country is rich in natural resources, including oil and gas, and has several rivers, such as the Kura and Araz, which are vital for agriculture and transportation.
