Geocentric Model
The Geocentric Model is an ancient astronomical theory that places the Earth at the center of the universe. According to this model, all celestial bodies, including the Sun, Moon, and stars, revolve around the Earth. This view was widely accepted in many ancient cultures and was notably supported by the Greek philosopher Aristotle and the astronomer Ptolemy.
The Geocentric Model dominated scientific thought until the 16th century, when the Heliocentric Model, proposed by Nicolaus Copernicus, began to challenge it. The Heliocentric Model suggested that the Sun is at the center of the solar system, leading to significant advancements in our understanding of astronomy.
