Genitourinary System
The genitourinary system, also known as the urinary system, includes the organs responsible for producing, storing, and eliminating urine, as well as those involved in reproduction. Key components include the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The kidneys filter blood to create urine, which travels through the ureters to the bladder for storage until it is expelled from the body.
In addition to urinary functions, the genitourinary system encompasses reproductive organs. In males, this includes the testes, penis, and prostate, while in females, it comprises the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and vagina. Together, these systems play crucial roles in both waste elimination and reproduction.
