General Võ Nguyên Giáp
General Võ Nguyên Giáp was a prominent Vietnamese military leader known for his role in the Vietnam War. Born on August 25, 1911, he was a key strategist for the Viet Minh during the struggle for independence from French colonial rule and later against the United States.
Giáp is celebrated for his innovative tactics, including the use of guerrilla warfare, which played a significant role in the defeat of French forces at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954. He served as the Minister of Defense for North Vietnam and was instrumental in shaping the military strategies that led to the reunification of Vietnam in 1975.
