Gendun Choekyi Nyima is the 11th Panchen Lama, a prominent figure in Tibetan Buddhism. Born on April 25, 1989, in Tibet, he was recognized as the reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama at a young age. His recognition was confirmed by the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, who is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. Shortly after his recognition, the Chinese government detained him and his family, leading to widespread international concern. Since then, Gendun Choekyi Nyima has been missing from public view, and his whereabouts remain unknown, making him one of the youngest political prisoners in the world.
