Gangetic Dolphin
The Gangetic Dolphin, also known as the Susu, is a freshwater dolphin found primarily in the rivers of the Ganges, Brahmaputra, and Indus in South Asia. This species is known for its unique appearance, featuring a long, slender body and a rounded forehead. Unlike many marine dolphins, the Gangetic Dolphin has poor eyesight and relies on echolocation to navigate and hunt for fish.
These dolphins are an important part of the river ecosystem, helping to maintain the balance of aquatic life. Unfortunately, the Gangetic Dolphin is classified as endangered due to habitat loss, pollution, and fishing activities. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this unique species and its habitat.
