Ganesha Festivals
The Ganesha Festival, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a Hindu celebration honoring Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom and prosperity. This festival typically lasts for ten days, starting in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September). Devotees create colorful idols of Ganesha, offer prayers, and perform rituals to seek his blessings for success and good fortune.
During the festival, communities come together to organize processions, cultural events, and feasts. At the end of the celebration, the idols are immersed in water, symbolizing the cycle of creation and dissolution. This act is known as Visarjan, marking the return of Ganesha to his celestial abode.
