Ganesha Festival
The Ganesha Festival, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a Hindu celebration that honors Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity of wisdom and prosperity. This festival typically lasts for ten days, starting in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September). Devotees create colorful idols of Ganesha, which are worshipped in homes and public spaces, accompanied by prayers, music, and dance.
At the end of the festival, the idols are immersed in water, symbolizing the cycle of birth and rebirth. The immersion, known as Visarjan, is a significant ritual that reflects the belief in Ganesha's return to his celestial abode. The festival fosters community spirit and cultural unity among participants.
