Ganden Tripa
The term "Ganden Tripa" refers to the title of the spiritual leader of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. This position is considered one of the highest in Tibetan Buddhism and is responsible for guiding the monastic community and preserving the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug tradition.
The Ganden Tripa is traditionally chosen from among the senior monks and is expected to have extensive knowledge of Buddhist philosophy and practice. The title has been held by many prominent figures since its establishment in the 15th century, contributing significantly to the development and spread of Tibetan Buddhism.
