Galls
Galls are abnormal growths that form on plants, typically in response to the presence of insects, fungi, or bacteria. These growths can appear as lumps, bumps, or swellings on leaves, stems, or roots. The most common culprits are gall wasps, which lay their eggs in plant tissues, triggering the plant to produce galls as a protective response.
Galls can vary in size, shape, and color, depending on the plant species and the organism causing them. While they may seem harmful, many galls do not significantly damage the host plant. Some galls even provide habitats for certain insects, contributing to the ecosystem's diversity.
