Galápagos Land Iguana
The Galápagos Land Iguana is a large lizard native to the Galápagos Islands. It has a robust body, a long tail, and can grow up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) in length. These iguanas primarily feed on vegetation, including cactus pads and fruits, and are known for their yellowish or orange coloration, which helps them blend into their arid environment.
These iguanas are well-adapted to their surroundings and can tolerate high temperatures. They are often seen basking in the sun to regulate their body temperature. The Galápagos Land Iguana is an important part of the island's ecosystem, contributing to seed dispersal and plant growth.
