Gaetano Bresci
Gaetano Bresci was an Italian anarchist born on November 6, 1869, in Prato, Italy. He is best known for assassinating King Umberto I of Italy on July 29, 1900. Bresci believed that the king was responsible for the suffering of the Italian people, particularly after a violent crackdown on a workers' protest in Milan.
After the assassination, Bresci was arrested and tried. He was sentenced to life in prison but died under mysterious circumstances in 1901. His actions and beliefs made him a controversial figure in the history of Italian anarchism and political activism.
