Frumentius
Frumentius was a Christian missionary and the first bishop of Aksum, an ancient kingdom in present-day Ethiopia. He is believed to have been born in Tyre and was taken captive as a child, later becoming a prominent figure in the region. His efforts in spreading Christianity in Ethiopia were significant, leading to the establishment of the faith in the area.
Frumentius is often credited with converting the Aksumite king, Ezana, to Christianity, which helped solidify the religion's presence in the kingdom. His work laid the foundation for the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, which remains a major Christian denomination in Ethiopia today.
