Frilled Lizards
The Frilled Lizard, known scientifically as *Chlamydosaurus kingii*, is a unique reptile native to northern Australia and New Guinea. It is easily recognized by the large frill of skin around its neck, which can be expanded when the lizard feels threatened. This display serves to intimidate predators and rivals.
Frilled lizards are primarily arboreal, meaning they live in trees, and they are excellent climbers. They mainly feed on insects and small invertebrates. When startled, they can run on their hind legs and may also drop from trees to escape danger, showcasing their agility and adaptability in their natural habitat.
