Frilled Lizard
The Frilled Lizard, also known as the frilled-neck lizard, is a species native to northern Australia and New Guinea. It is easily recognized by the large frill of skin around its neck, which can be expanded when the lizard feels threatened. This display serves to intimidate predators and rivals.
Frilled lizards are primarily arboreal, meaning they live in trees, and they are excellent climbers. They feed mainly on insects and small invertebrates. When startled, they can run quickly on their hind legs, making them agile escape artists in their natural habitat.
