Friar
A Friar is a member of a religious order in the Christian tradition, particularly within the Roman Catholic Church. Unlike monks, who typically live in monasteries, friars often live among the community and engage in preaching, teaching, and social work. They follow a rule of life that emphasizes poverty, humility, and service to others.
Friars belong to various orders, such as the Franciscans, founded by Saint Francis of Assisi, and the Dominicans, established by Saint Dominic. These orders focus on different aspects of spirituality and community service, but all friars share a commitment to living out their faith through active involvement in society.
