Friars
Friars are members of certain religious orders within the Christian tradition, particularly associated with the Catholic Church. They live a life dedicated to service, prayer, and community, often taking vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Unlike monks, who typically live in monasteries, friars often engage with the outside world, working in parishes, schools, and missions.
There are several well-known orders of friars, including the Franciscans, founded by Saint Francis of Assisi, and the Dominicans, established by Saint Dominic. Each order has its own specific focus and mission, but all friars aim to spread the teachings of Christianity and serve those in need.
