French Overseas Departments
French Overseas Departments are regions that are part of France but are located outside of mainland Europe. They have the same legal status as French metropolitan regions and are fully integrated into the French Republic. These departments include Guadeloupe, Martinique, RĂ©union, Mayotte, and French Guiana.
Each department has its own unique culture and geography, influenced by their tropical climates and diverse populations. They benefit from the same rights and responsibilities as other French regions, including access to French social services and representation in the French Parliament.
