Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin
The Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was a historical state in northern Germany, existing from 1918 until 1934. It emerged after World War I, transitioning from a grand duchy to a republic. The state was part of the larger region of Mecklenburg and was known for its agricultural economy and picturesque landscapes, including lakes and forests.
In 1934, the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin was merged into the Free State of Mecklenburg, which later became part of East Germany after World War II. The region has a rich cultural heritage, with notable cities like Schwerin, famous for its castle and vibrant arts scene.
