Free Kicks
A free kick is a method of restarting play in soccer after a foul has been committed by a player. The team awarded the free kick can take an unopposed kick from the spot of the foul. There are two types of free kicks: direct and indirect. A direct free kick allows the player to score a goal directly, while an indirect free kick requires the ball to touch another player before a goal can be scored.
Free kicks can be taken from various distances and angles, depending on where the foul occurred. Players often use strategic formations and techniques to increase their chances of scoring. The defending team must maintain a distance of at least 10 yards from the ball until it is in play.
