František Palacký
František Palacký was a prominent Czech historian and politician, born on June 19, 1798, in the town of Nymburk. He is often referred to as the "Father of Czech History" for his extensive work in documenting and interpreting Czech history, particularly through his multi-volume work titled Dějiny národa českého (History of the Czech Nation).
Palacký played a significant role in the Czech National Revival during the 19th century, advocating for Czech culture and language. He was also involved in the political movements of his time, promoting the idea of a united Slavic identity and supporting the Austrian Empire while seeking greater autonomy for the Czech lands.
