Frank Slide
The Frank Slide was a massive rockslide that occurred on April 29, 1903, in the town of Frank, located in the Crowsnest Pass of Alberta, Canada. Approximately 30 million cubic meters of limestone rock fell from the eastern face of Turtle Mountain, burying part of the town and the nearby railway line.
The disaster resulted in the deaths of around 70 people and caused significant destruction. The event was triggered by a combination of geological factors, including heavy rainfall and the mountain's unstable rock formations. Today, the site is a popular tourist attraction and is part of the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre.
