Franconian League
The Franconian League was a military alliance formed in the late 15th century among several cities and regions in the Franconia area of present-day Germany. Its primary purpose was to provide mutual defense against external threats and to maintain local autonomy. The league included important cities like Nuremberg and Bamberg, which sought to protect their interests and influence in the region.
The league played a significant role during the German Peasants' War in the 1520s, as its members worked together to suppress uprisings and maintain order. Over time, the influence of the Franconian League diminished, and it eventually dissolved as political structures in Germany evolved.
