Frames of Mind
"Frames of Mind" is a book by psychologist Howard Gardner published in 1983. It introduces the theory of multiple intelligences, proposing that intelligence is not a single entity but a collection of different types. Gardner identifies at least eight distinct intelligences, including linguistic, logical-mathematical, and musical intelligences, among others.
The theory challenges traditional views of intelligence, which often focus solely on academic abilities. Instead, it emphasizes the diverse ways individuals learn and express their capabilities. This perspective has influenced education, encouraging personalized teaching methods that cater to various strengths and learning styles.
