Fracture Healing
Fracture healing is the process by which a broken bone repairs itself. It typically occurs in three main stages: the inflammatory phase, the reparative phase, and the remodeling phase. During the inflammatory phase, blood clots form at the fracture site, and cells begin to clean up debris. In the reparative phase, new bone tissue, called callus, forms around the fracture, stabilizing it.
In the final remodeling phase, the new bone gradually strengthens and reshapes itself to restore its original structure. This process can take several weeks to months, depending on factors like the type of fracture and the individual's overall health. Proper care and rehabilitation are essential for effective healing.
