Fort Margherita
Fort Margherita is a historical fort located in Kuching, Malaysia. Built in 1879 by the White Rajahs, it was named after the wife of Charles Brooke, the second Rajah of Sarawak. The fort was constructed to protect the river from pirates and to assert British authority in the region.
Today, Fort Margherita serves as a museum showcasing the history of the fort and the Brooke dynasty. Visitors can explore its well-preserved structure, which features cannons and exhibits that highlight the fort's significance in Sarawak's colonial past.
