Fort Clark
Fort Clark was a military outpost established in 1852 in what is now North Dakota. It served as a key supply and communication point for the United States Army during the westward expansion. The fort was named after General John Clark and played a significant role in protecting settlers and maintaining peace with local Native American tribes.
The fort was active until 1867 and housed various military units, including the famous 7th Cavalry. Today, the site is preserved as a historical landmark, allowing visitors to learn about its history and the broader context of the American frontier, including interactions with the Sioux and Assiniboine tribes.
