Assiniboine
The Assiniboine are a Native American tribe originally from the northern Great Plains, primarily in present-day Canada and the northern United States. They are part of the larger Sioux Nation and historically engaged in hunting, fishing, and agriculture. The tribe is known for its rich cultural traditions and social structures.
The name "Assiniboine" is derived from the Ojibwe word meaning "stone Sioux," referring to their use of stone tools. Today, many Assiniboine people are part of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation in Montana and the Saskatchewan region in Canada, where they continue to preserve their heritage and traditions.
