Football Association of Yugoslavia
The Football Association of Yugoslavia (FAS) was the governing body for football in the former Yugoslavia. Established in 1919, it was responsible for organizing national competitions and overseeing the national team. The FAS played a significant role in the development of football in the region and was a member of both FIFA and UEFA.
After the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, the FAS was dissolved, leading to the formation of separate football associations for the newly independent countries, including Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. Each of these associations now governs football in their respective nations.
