Foot Fracture
A foot fracture is a break in one or more of the bones in the foot, which can occur due to trauma, overuse, or certain medical conditions. Common symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty walking. The foot consists of 26 bones, and fractures can happen in any of these areas, including the toes, metatarsals, or tarsal bones.
Diagnosis typically involves a physical examination and imaging tests like X-rays. Treatment may include rest, ice, compression, elevation, and in some cases, a cast or surgery. Proper healing is essential to restore function and prevent complications, such as chronic pain or arthritis.
