Fomalhaut B
Fomalhaut B is an exoplanet located in the Fomalhaut star system, which is about 25 light-years away from Earth. It orbits the star Fomalhaut, a bright and prominent star in the constellation Piscis Austrinus. Fomalhaut B was discovered in 2008 and is notable for being one of the first directly imaged exoplanets.
The planet is roughly 2 to 3 times the mass of Jupiter and orbits its star at a distance similar to that of Neptune from the Sun. Fomalhaut B is part of a system that also includes a debris disk, which is made up of dust and ice, indicating ongoing planetary formation processes.
