Flying Tigers
The Flying Tigers were a group of American volunteer pilots who fought for the Chinese Air Force during World War II. Officially known as the 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG), they were formed in 1941 to help China resist Japanese aggression. The pilots were known for their distinctive shark-faced aircraft and their effective combat tactics.
Led by Colonel Claire Lee Chennault, the Flying Tigers became famous for their bravery and skill in aerial combat. They played a crucial role in defending China and disrupting Japanese supply lines. Their legacy continues to be celebrated in both American and Chinese history.
