Flying Fish Species
Flying fish species are known for their unique ability to glide above the water's surface. They possess elongated fins that allow them to soar for considerable distances, often escaping predators. These fish can be found in warm ocean waters, primarily in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans.
There are about 70 species of flying fish, with the most common being the Pacific flying fish. They typically leap out of the water to avoid threats, using their wing-like pectoral fins to glide. This remarkable adaptation helps them travel up to 200 meters in a single flight.
