The Flavian dynasty was a Roman imperial family that ruled from 69 to 96 AD. It began with Vespasian, who came to power after a year of civil war known as the Year of the Four Emperors. Vespasian is known for restoring stability to the Roman Empire and initiating significant construction projects, including the famous Colosseum in Rome.
The dynasty continued with Vespasian's sons, Titus and Domitian. Titus is remembered for his brief but effective reign and for overseeing the completion of the Colosseum. Domitian, on the other hand, faced criticism for his authoritarian rule, which ultimately led to his assassination, marking the end of the Flavian dynasty.
