Flag of Catalonia
The Flag of Catalonia, known as the "Senyera," features four red stripes on a golden yellow background. This design has its origins in the medieval coat of arms of the Counts of Barcelona and symbolizes the region's identity and heritage. The flag is widely used in Catalonia, an autonomous community in northeastern Spain.
In addition to the traditional Senyera, a variant called the "Estelada" includes a blue triangle with a white star, representing the desire for independence. The Estelada is often seen at pro-independence rallies and reflects the aspirations of many Catalans for self-determination.
