Five Act Structure
The Five Act Structure is a narrative framework used in storytelling, particularly in plays and screenwriting. It divides a story into five distinct parts: Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Denouement. This structure helps to organize the plot and develop characters, ensuring a coherent flow of events.
In the Exposition, the setting and characters are introduced. The Rising Action builds tension through conflicts and challenges. The Climax is the turning point, where the main conflict reaches its peak. The Falling Action follows, leading to the resolution, or Denouement, where loose ends are tied up and the story concludes.
