Fish Owl
The Fish Owl, scientifically known as Bubo scandiacus, is a large species of owl found primarily in Asia and Eastern Europe. It is known for its distinctive appearance, featuring a round face, large yellow eyes, and prominent ear tufts. This owl typically inhabits forested areas near rivers and lakes, where it can hunt for its primary prey: fish.
Fish Owls are skilled hunters, using their keen eyesight and hearing to locate fish in the water. They are primarily nocturnal, hunting at night, and can weigh up to 4.5 kg (10 lbs). Due to habitat loss and pollution, their populations are declining, making conservation efforts essential.
