Firefly family
The Firefly family refers to a group of insects known for their ability to produce light through a chemical reaction in their bodies. This phenomenon, called bioluminescence, is primarily used for communication, especially during mating rituals. Fireflies are commonly found in warm, humid environments and are most active during the summer months.
Fireflies belong to the order Coleoptera and are part of the family Lampyridae. There are over 2,000 species of fireflies worldwide, each exhibiting unique patterns of light. These insects play a role in the ecosystem as both pollinators and a food source for various predators.
