Firebugs
Firebugs are small insects belonging to the family Pyrrhocoridae. They are commonly found in gardens and fields, often near plants like mallow and cotton. These insects are easily recognizable by their bright red or orange bodies, which are usually marked with black spots. Firebugs feed primarily on seeds and plant juices, making them herbivorous.
These insects are not harmful to humans or pets, and they play a role in the ecosystem by helping to decompose organic matter. Firebugs are often seen in groups, especially during the warmer months, as they seek out food and mates. Their presence can indicate a healthy environment.
