Finnish Football League
The Finnish Football League, known as Veikkausliiga, is the top professional football league in Finland. Established in 1990, it features a competitive format where teams compete for the championship title. The league typically consists of 12 teams that play each other in a round-robin format, with matches held from April to October.
The league operates on a promotion and relegation system with the Ykkönen, the second tier of Finnish football. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion, while the bottom teams face relegation.
