Veikkausliiga
Veikkausliiga is the top professional football league in Finland. Established in 1990, it features a system of promotion and relegation with the lower division, known as Ykkönen. The league typically consists of 12 teams that compete annually from April to October.
Each season, teams play a total of 22 matches, facing each opponent twice. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion and qualifies for European competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League.
